Mother’s Day is About Peace

In 1870, Julia Ward Howe wrote the “Mother’s Day Proclamation,” a call to action that asked mothers to unite in promoting world peace.

“From the bosom of the devastated earth a voice goes up with our own. It says: Disarm, disarm!”
—Julia Ward Howe

Mother’s Day is 150 years old.
